Requesting a CareLearn account is as easy as 1-2-3! Just follow the steps below. If you already have an account, you may log in at any time. CareLearn is available for free to direct care professionals working in Washington State for an Adult Family Home, Assisted Living Facility, Enhanced Service Facility, or Home Care Agency not affiliated with the SEIU.
- Unpaid Caregivers who provide assistance to family members or friends may also request a CareLearn account.
- CareLearn is NOT available to SEIU 775 union members. Union members must receive their training from the Training Partnership.
- Direct Support Professionals (Attendant Counselors) employed by DSHS have access to CareLearn CE courses via the Washington State Learning Center. Contact your supervisor for more information.
You may only use this system if you agree to the following statements. If any of the statements are untrue or you disagree, please close your browser, and discontinue use. - I am a paid long term-care worker, unpaid family caregiver, student within a caregiver training program, or a facility owner, administrator, or supervisor.
- I currently work within (or plan to work within) an in-home setting, Adult Family Home, Assisted Living Facility, Enhanced Service Facility, Home Care Agency, Alternative Living Home, Community Residential Supported Living Facility, Companion Home, Group Home, Group Training Home, or State Operated Community Residential Supported Living Facility.
- I am NOT a member of SEIU 775 (note that individual providers are required to receive their training through the Training Partnership).
- I understand that this system includes content produced by DSHS as well as external entities.
- I understand that training content may include graphic images and/or conversation which some may find disturbing.
- I understand that nothing in these training materials supersedes duties and requirements as outlined by RCW, WAC, or Department policy.
- I am responsible for tracking and managing my own continuing education (CE) classes and credits.
- I understand I can print my certificates, transcripts, and diplomas only, and will not print, screenshot, copy, or save any of the copyrighted training information or materials.
- I agree to receive intermittent email communications from the CareLearn system and its administrators.
- I agree to send a message to carelearnsupport@dshs.wa.gov any time I change the type of facility in which I work or my role in that facility.
- I understand if I do not log in at least once every 360 days my account may be inactivated.
- Within the CareLearn Social Communities I will be polite, respectful, and foster meaningful and genuine interactions with all community members. I will not post any protected health information. I understand that Administrators reserve the right to review and remove any comment or content deemed inappropriate.
Create a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) Account
You will need an email address to create a SAW account. If you do not have one, you can create a free email address with Gmail.
Create SAW AccountNote: If you already have a SAW account, you can skip this step. However, the email address you use in Step 2 must be the same as the primary email address listed on your SAW account.
Submit CareLearn Account Request Form
When completing this form, you must use the primary email address listed on your SAW account.

Wait for Your Confirmation Email
New user account requests are typically processed once per week. Once your account is active, you will receive a confirmation email that contains instructions on how to log in and begin your training courses.
